How To Get To Lefkas & Preveza

The majority of visitors to Lefkas & Preveza fly to Preveza airport (code PVK), either direct or via Athens.

Preveza airport is about 20 minutes from Lefkas marina, or 3 minutes from the Preveza boat yards. Flights to Preveza from the UK run on Sundays from Gatwick and Manchester, as well as some regional airports. Direct flights from the rest of Europe arrive predominantly on Saturdays

Altenatives to Preveza airport

Transfers from Athens

Domestic flights between Athens and Preveza are operated by Olympic Airlines. An alternative to flying is to get a taxi from Athens to Lefkas. This takes around 5 hours and will cost in the region of €300.

Corfu airport

Corfu (locally: Kerkyra) airport is one of the busiest in the Ionian - it is possible to fly in daily from all round Europe on both charter and scheduled airlines. Transfers from Corfu to Lefkas require a ferry journey.

The ferry port is around 15 minutes by taxi from the airport. Ferries leave almost hourly to Igoumenitsa on the mainland and take 1½ - 2 hours. The cost of the ferry is around €10 per foot passanger. Once in Igoumenitsa, a transfer to Preveza takes around 1 hour (Lefkas: 1½) and costs around €130.

Argostoli airport, Kefallonia

Argostoli is on the island of Kefallonia. Flights run direct from the UK and via Athens. Transfers from Argostoli require a ferry journey between Fiscardo (about 1 hour by taxi from the airport, cost c. €60) and Vassiliki or Nidri on Lefkas. The ferry takes 1½ - 2 hours (depending on destination) and runs up to 5 times a day. Cost is around €10 per adult foot passanger.

Ferries from Italy

There is an extensive ferry network running between the Italian east coast and Igoumenitsa in Greece. Ferries start in Vencice, Anacona, Bari and Brindisi. Several of these ports are accessible by low-cost airlines. Once in Igoumenitsa, a taxi to Lefkas will cost around €100 and take 1½ hours.
